Robin
Kindle and Candle is my way of connecting with what I love while sharing a message of love. I primarily focus on book and candle reviews, but you’ll also get real talk about self-care and mental well-being!
Who I Am:
- Therapist – Specifically, I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who loves working with teens and college-age clients, self-identified “nerds” of any kind, entrepreneurs, and self-employed/small business owners.
- Bookworm – I initially fell in love with the fantasy and sci-fi genres, but over time, I’ve come to love just about all genres, including young adult and new adult, psychological thrillers, romance, and domestic fiction.
- Nerd – I’m definitely a “Trekkie” and “gamer,” among other things. I don’t like to place myself in a box or go all-out with specific fandoms and hobbies, because there are so many interests I want to explore!
What I Embrace:
- Self-Care – This includes intentional (vs. accidental or coincidental) focus on all aspects of well-being (mental, physical, relational, spiritual, etc.). For ideas on how to improve your everyday self-care, check out this great article from PsychCentral!
- Nature – You’ll see quite a bit of backyard (or near-my-backyard) photography of flora and fauna if you follow me on social media. I believe it’s important to get outside and enjoy the world around us!
- Authenticity – One of the reasons why I shied away from Instagram for so long was because some influencers came across as “fake,” and their feeds felt overly “staged.” I strive for something more genuine with my content, even if it doesn’t attract as many followers.
