Candle Tin Trio by Trader Joe’s

Candle Tin Trio by Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s Candle Tin Trio (featuring Stawberry Basil, Watermelon Mint, and Pineapple Cilantro) fared better than its winter version, but overall, it’s just okay.⁣

   Appearance

As usual, the packaging is what sold me. The labels are colorful and eye-catching!⁣

   Fragrance

Strawberry Basil and Watermelon Mint smelled very much like the fruit they were named after, whereas Pineapple Cilantro had a hint of vanilla. It threw me off, as I was expecting something more fruit-forward.⁣

   Throw

Strawberry Basil and Watermelon Mint had moderate cold throws, whereas Pineapple Cilantro had a more mild cold throw. All three candles had a moderate hot throw, and the fragrances didn’t change upon lighting.⁣

   Burn

All three candles performed well in this regard. The wax pooled to the edges, and the wicks just required a little bit of trimming after each use.⁣

   Impression

Watermelon Mint was the most refreshing of the three. It actually smelled like someone cut up a watermelon and put the slices next to me! The other two candles smelled more like imitations of the fruit, and didn’t bring about the same sense of excitement for the summer.⁣

   Rating: 3/5

I would give Watermelon Melon 4/5, but the other two hovered around 3/5, so that determined the final rating. If Trader Joe’s ever makes a larger version of Watermelon Mint, I’m buying a whole bunch of them!⁣
