I can’t believe it’s Friday already! Let’s welcome the weekend with a candle review.
Appearance
As is typical for Bath & Body Works’ single-wick candles, the design is eye-catching despite its simplistic label.
Fragrance
The description for this candle is straightforward – “Dark Cherry, Black Raspberry, [and] Merlot.” The smell of cherries was immediately apparent. Not sure I could detect the raspberry or merlot, but I didn’t mind, since “cherry” is what I wanted when I bought this candle!
Throw
The cold throw was very strong, and smelled just like the real deal (cherries!). The hot throw was equally strong, and surprisingly so for such a small candle. I lit it up in the office and could smell it in the other room! However, the smell wasn’t too overpowering.
Burn
The fragrance was released within a few minutes, so I was able to enjoy the candle right away. It was a slow burn, taking about an hour to pool to the sides. There was a tiny bit of mushrooming that happened after burning, so I’ll need to trim the wick before next use.
Impression
This candle was wonderful to light up first thing in the morning. I enjoyed catching wisps of the fragrance as I went about my day, and it gave me some pleasant, summer-y vibes.
Rating: 5/5
Honestly, there aren’t many candles that get a perfect rating from me, but this one deserves it. Bath & Body Works is having a 2-for-$20 sale on their single-wick candles, and Black Cherry Merlot is still available online!
