As much as it pains me to say it… Trader Joe’s Peony Blossom candle was a huge flop for me.
Appearance
The packaging is what initially sold me on this candle! I loved the simple, feminine label.
Fragrance
It doesn’t get any more straightforward than this – the candle smelled like peonies.
Throw
The cold throw was pleasant, somewhere between mild and moderate in strength. Unfortunately, I smelled absolutely nothing with the hot throw. I had to hover above the candle and waft the scent toward myself in order to detect anything… which is obviously not ideal or safe to do!
Burn
This candle had a slow and uneven burn, which was another bummer. The wick mushroomed after burning (so you’ll want to trim that before next use).
Impression
I wanted to have something calming in my office, but instead, I became frustrated with the candle’s lackluster performance! I happened to buy two candles last year, so I lit up the second one to see if that was any better. No luck there.
Rating: 2/5
I do want to note that this is a review of last year’s Peony Blossom candle, so perhaps the recipe has improved since then. If you’ve tried this year’s version, what are your thoughts?
